UN DPoA MTR Journalism Fellowship 2027 in Qatar (Fully Funded)

The Doha Programme of Action (DPoA) Midterm Review Journalism Fellowship 2027 is a fully funded international opportunity offered by the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS).

The fellowship invites professional journalists from the world’s Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to attend and report on the High-level Midterm Review of the Doha Programme of Action, scheduled for March 25–27, 2027, in Doha, Qatar.

The initiative aims to strengthen international reporting on sustainable development challenges and highlight how global commitments affect people and communities in LDCs. Selected journalists will cover discussions, policy announcements, development priorities, and progress toward improving living conditions in vulnerable countries.

Fellowship Benefits

Selected fellows will receive financial and professional support, including:

  • Round-trip airfare: Economy-class travel to Doha, Qatar.
  • Daily subsistence allowance: Support for accommodation and meals according to applicable United Nations rules.
  • Orientation: Participation in pre-conference orientation activities, where applicable.
  • Professional briefings: Access to fellowship briefings related to the Midterm Review and the Doha Programme of Action.
  • Networking opportunities: Opportunities to connect with international stakeholders, policymakers, development experts, and fellow journalists.
  • International reporting experience: A chance to cover a major United Nations development review and produce journalism for audiences in LDCs.
